WHAT HAVE WE ACCOMPLISHED
Beginning in the year 2016, LPHO began our first mission in serving our community by providing a dinner on both Thanksgiving Day and later spreading the same joy on Christmas Day. LPHO was able to provide and deliver traditional meals to over 100 people on both occasions in the community with the intent of spreading God’s Love to under-privileged families.
WHAT WE DO
LPHO is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that was established in October 2016. We are an outreach ministry centered in our love for our community through the LOVE of God and each other. Outreach is shared among many organizations of our community for those who wish to participate in community service to the under-privileged. We have multiple programs in place and more to come such as: The Holiday Meals Program, after school programs, providing meals and clothing for those in need, assistance to the elderly and disadvantaged, and Toys of Tots, etc.
The focus has been placed on families with children, whom should never go without the necessities surrounding a holiday period, regardless of their families' financial struggles.
HOLIDAY MEAL PROGRAM
The Holiday Meals program is serves meals to the under-privileged on holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Easter Sunday. Thanksgiving assistance provides a traditional holiday meal (dinner includes turkey as the centerpiece, meats, vegetables, stuffing, gravy as the side dishes, fruit, dessert and drinks) for anyone in need of a meal or for those who wish to spend their Holiday with others.
Christmas Day usually is the greatest demand for assistance. This is when most families are attempting to provide food, gifts, and a joyous time for their families and children. Often there are also ongoing struggles with providing for your family, and paying your regular monthly bills.
Easter Assistance – While not as common, many families struggle to keep food on their table during Easter as well. Families and hungry individuals who are struggling to provide for themselves or their families are welcome to take advantage of any assistance that is provided. This can include baskets, eggs, hot meals, and much more. Easter eggs may be hidden for the joy of local children during Easter.
Place: The Holiday Meals are served at to be determined, we also deliver meals to people who are homebound.

Time: Meals are served between 11:00am – 2:30pm.

Sponsors and volunteers are needed in order to make this event successful. Business sponsors are needed to help cover the expenses of this program. Volunteers; drivers, servers, kitchen help, and cleanup crews are all needed.
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Board of Directors’ primary motivation for offering after school programming in Thomson grew out of concern for the safety and success of Thomson’s children and families. Nationally, more than 11.3 million youth are left by themselves or unsupervised between 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and we know this is a challenge here at home, as well. Area research shows that between 28.9% and 40.1% of Thomson’s population lives in poverty, leading Thomson named the poorest town in 48 states by MSN’s “Wall Street 24/7”. Together, these factors contribute to our children, especially our youngest children, being more likely to find harm. The Board wants to prevent that as much as possible. By providing a health meal and helping them with their homework.
Coming soon, the after school program will provide after school services to underprivileged children and youth in Thomson, Georgia. After School services are subject to include: homework assistance, nutritional snacks, and physical activities, etc.
The program will be available to students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. LPHO depends greatly on donations and grants to provide after school services without any cost to parents.
